Can I list my site on the marketplace if it was based on someone else's paid site?
How to list a site on the marketplace
  1. If you plan to charge money for your sites: Connect your Drupito account to Stripe. If you don't already have a Stripe account approval may take a few days.
  2. Whether your site is free or paid, create a hosted trial site:
    1. Select a starting point via the site marketplace. You can build on top of either a free or paid starter! (see previous question for detail)
    2. You must choose the "Hosted site" option. Select the "Trial Site" hosting plan for minimal costs. See the next bullet if you wonder why this is required.
    3. Why do I have to pay for a trial site? Because, it includes the following:
      • Automatic updates and upgrades
      • Free demo environments for your potential customers
      • Security, hosting, maintenance, and distribution
      • Marketing - we will advertise our marketplace at non-Drupal events
  3. Build your site normally. Ensure you are adding value to the original site template, or your site will be removed from the public marketplace.
  4. When your site is ready to be used by others, and when your Stripe account is approved, click "Create Site Starter".
  5. Set prices for users to buy and/or rent your site.
    • (yes, rent - subscription income FTW!).
    • If you set 0 for both (buy & rent) prices, your site will be available for free.
    • If you set 0 for rent, and non-zero for buy, your site will only be available for purchase - not rent.
    • If you set 0 for buy, and non-zero for rent, your site will be available for rent (hosted on Drupito). This is the only scenario where a marketplace site will not be exportable.
  6. The platform will automatically list your site on the marketplace - including the trial site and fast demo environments.
